There are so many ways to decorate for Christmas. Silver & gold are the classics combine them with red & green you have traditional. In the past I always had a Victorian style decor in house with Christmas. I myself do not like Christmas ball ornaments so I never have them in my tree. I did use lace, pearls & roses (dried & fresh). This year it will be wood, wool, clay & paper. Colours will be white, natural (wood), pastel, brights and a touch of neon.
Recently my daughter adopted a kitten, Cloé who is now six months old so we have decided to use a fake tree this year (this year only!). Cloé climbs everything from legs to curtains. The tree will have to remain on a high surface! I am considering cutting a tree shape out of plywood and painting it white to place against the wall with lights behind it. An alternative tree this year!

Mademoiselle Cloé
Yesterday my daughter and I started making clay ornaments. We used doilies for the designs as well as stamps. (On my instagram feed you can see some of the photographs of them / username vintagerosebrocante). When they are finished I will post them here. Meanwhile I will add below a link with a recipe worth trying out along with other holiday inspiration.
