Holiday Decorating Inspiration

Hello! It has been a while since my last post! I am working on a lot of things including an Etsy shop! Details on that later!

I’d love to share some more holiday decorating inspiration with you.

This print I made yesterday. Just having some fun with Photoshop!

Here is some inspiration for the holidays!

Two of my favourite things; washi-tape and bakers twine. Ellas Inspiration made these adorable gift tags.

The Vintage House shows how you can simply place some greenery into basically any container that you can hang up and you have a lovely decoration for your home.

Below you can see how Elisabeth Heier wraps gifts using different techniques. Also you can see how Papermash makes gift cards using fabric tape.

Different ways to deck the halls…

There are so many ways to decorate for Christmas. Silver & gold are the classics combine them with red & green you have traditional. In the past I always had a Victorian style decor in house with Christmas. I myself do not like Christmas ball ornaments so I never have them in my tree. I did use lace, pearls & roses (dried & fresh). This year it will be wood, wool, clay & paper. Colours will be white, natural (wood), pastel, brights and a touch of neon.

Recently my daughter adopted a kitten, Cloé who is now six months old so we have decided to use a fake tree this year (this year only!). Cloé climbs everything from legs to curtains. The tree will have to remain on a high surface! I am considering cutting a tree shape out of plywood and painting it white to place against the wall with lights behind it. An alternative tree this year!

Yesterday my daughter and I started making clay ornaments. We used doilies for the designs as well as stamps. (On my instagram feed you can see some of the photographs of them / username vintagerosebrocante). When they are finished I will post them here. Meanwhile I will add below a link with a recipe worth trying out along with other holiday inspiration.

These are from Woodside Kitchen. The recipe is simple and inexpensive. You can find it here.

The digital washi tape used in this post will be available later this week for downloading.

Have a good week!
Cheers!

vtwonen @ De Woonbeurs 2012

The 2012 Woonbeurs (home & garden expo) was inspiring this year as always! The house from vtwonen (Dutch home interior magazine) was full of details. Here are some of my photographs from the vtwonen house.
